I know I will always be writing about cancer, church planting, suffering, and life with kids, but what I really love is sharing my table! I love what I have seen happen to hearts around a meal. Love it! I always looked for a home where I could have a giant table. This house, well, we took out a wall, and Jason built the table. Build the table, cook the food, and they will come!

I was planning on waking up and telling y’all how Jason pointed out that I had bed head this morning. I love it—I have enough hair to get bed head! But the events of our evening have overshadowed this happy, silly news.

Last night at 2am our garage door started going up and down, up and down several times. It really freaked me out. Jason ran down to shut it, he then worked to quiet my fears. He told me these weird things happen. I didn’t really believe him, and I worried over every sound in the night. I struggled for a long time to get back to sleep. I posted about what happened on Facebook so there would be some word of what had happened.

I’m awake, unable to sleep and anticipation of our first worship service. We are having our first practice service this Sunday. It is a true service, but we are working out the kinks this first trial run. It’s exciting, it’s overwhelming, and it’s amazing.

We had a sweet sendoff yesterday from Village Seven. My heart filled with such gratitude for the church that had the vision to bring us out here and plant this church. When the session learned of my cancer, they graciously allowed us to push back our start date. We were originally supposed to begin in October, but they were open to us beginning in March. The later start was good providence. The added time gave us time to be strengthened and grow and be stretched as a community.

This past Thursday we loaded up our gang and headed to the World Arena to the Worship Roadshow. We had learned that Jason’s college roommate was opening for the concert. Friends of ours had reserved a box. We enjoyed food, good music, and great fellowship. The kids were safe to play, enjoy, and be introduced to all kinds of music.
