Kara’s Collection: Friday! Friday! Friday!

From an article originally posted February 6, 2013…

This was my reading today. It has been quoted to me many times through this journey. I feel like God has given me an army of trustworthy people to hold up my weary arms in this battle. I feel like there have been people to hold up the arms of the people who are holding up mine. It has been an unbelievable picture of community.

Friday is a huge day for us. We won’t be making decisions, but we will meet with the radiologist and have a better picture of our last step. Friday is also the last day of live-in help. We will put my mama on a plane that afternoon. We have had a parade of help in our home to help us. We have had an in town army of support as well. It’s been very humbling. But I’m eager to have the strength to do life in our home. Jason wants help through radiation, but I want to be a toughie and go it alone. We will see how my body reacts to it.

My beautiful parade of live-in help, starting from the very beginning.

All this love. And do you see what is not shown? The husbands that sacrificed and supported these women in coming. The time away from snuggles with their own families. There are countless plane tickets, rescheduled appointments, time away from everyday life, sacrifice to love this little ole family in a hard season. We are blessed, humbled, thankful! Here is my ebenezer of the faithfulness of God to us through this extremely difficult season. The parade of care. What a beautiful thing to remember. Thank you is simply inadequate!
