Some of the most difficult conversations I have had in the midst of my cancer have been with believers that do not see God in a hard plan. So many believe hard comes, and God makes it better, but they believe God had nothing to do with my hard story. It is easy to forget our salvation was made on a tree. For me, the story that comes to mind over and over again is the story of Joseph.

Everyone has been writing these lovely posts about how they met Kara and their relationship with Kara. When Blythe sent out a message saying she was ready for more, I snarkily (if that’s not a word it should be) replied that everyone should set a deadline. That I would never hand any writing in without a deadline. And then someone brought up the fact that I hadn't written a blog about this yet... ha! Love that my friends can handle my sarcasm and throw it back at me.

My mind is hazy now, the fog of grief still present, still clouding my memory. I don’t remember when Kara’s attendance at church started waning. What I remember is waiting for her Sunday text, her invitation.

It would come with a ding: CAN YOU COME SIT WITH ME THIS MORNING?
